Komunikasi Antarbudaya dalam Seni Pertunjukan Teater "Tiang dan Tuan Guru"

Abstract

The intercultural communication carried out by the Komunitas Rabu Langit and the Teater 16 Community
in a theatrical performance entitled "Tiang dan Tuan Guru" is a collaboration between two communities
with different cultural backgrounds. This research aims to find out how important intercultural
communication is in the production of the theater performances "Tiang dan Tuan Guru" using the theories
of sociology, communication, inter-cultural communication, theatre art, and community in the art of
performance. The researchers studied on the basis of the research process carried out on the ground using
the qualitative method of case studies. The results of this research are based on the analysis of the
researcher, referring to the theory used, namely: intercultural communication that is embedded in the
collaboration of the theater performance entitled "Tiang dan Tuan Guru", which was carried out by the Rabu
Langit Community and the Teater 16 Community. In the process, there were a lot of differences of opinion
between the heads of the Rabu Langit Community and the Head of the Teater 16 Community, but any such
differences can be overcome by the existence of the communication process in order to unite any
differences that occur between the two communities that have different cultural backgrounds. The
performance was a success and was able to attract an audience of 800 people.
