Transcendent love refers to a love that surpasses worldly boundaries and is connected to the love of God through His creations. Using a qualitative approach and hermeneutic analysis, this research reveals how the relationships between characters, particularly between Ali and Mahtab, as well as the friendship between Ali and Karim, represent transcendent love. Ali's love for Mahtab is not merely romantic but also demonstrates his submission to God, when Ali transcends worldly desires and passions. His friendship with Karim also portrays pure and sincere love, despite the differences in social status and faith. This research shows that transcendent love is a path for humans to draw closer to God by prioritizing spiritual values beyond worldly attachments. The novel illustrates that love for fellow humans can become a means to love God, and through surrendering to Him, that love evolves into pure and sincere love.
2025-09-18T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Epigraf: Berkala Ilmiah Sastra https://ojs.laaudere.org/index.php/epigraf/article/view/13 Struktur Naratif Putri Mandalika dalam Cerita Lisan dan Seni Pertunjukan 2025-09-17T12:22:51+00:00 Muh. This article contributes to the study of Islamic literary genres in Indonesia. This article uses genre theory, which assumes genre as a type of plot. Genre theory requires data in the form of plot. To find out the plot, the structural method is used for data analysis. The plot consists of a beginning, middle, and end. The results of the analysis show that the work is a travel genre. Sunan Galur's journey teaches Islamic law, but is hindered by the followers of Syekh Siti Jenar's teachings. The journey of Ki Malang Sumirang and Ki Ageng Pengging to reach the teachings of Siti Jenar, manunggaling kawula gusti. Both novels have different intrinsic patterns. BSSJ focuses on the village by maintaining tradition, so the word babad appears in the title of the novel. The characters presented are metaphorical characters, who replace the role of Siti Jenar, so that the body is considered as something fluid. JGMT presents a city in the past by maintaining its history without describing it metaphorically. This means that JGMT returns to historical texts with a little innovation. In that context, JGMT positions the body as a fixed entity, not as something fluid, so that Siti Jenar's teachings are only mastered by her students.
2025-09-18T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Epigraf: Berkala Ilmiah Sastra https://ojs.laaudere.org/index.php/epigraf/article/view/15 Analisis Naskah "Bilai" Karya Mulyadi: 2025-09-22T22:33:19+00:00 M. Khairul Harjoni khairulharjoni023@gmail.com Mahfudz Shobirin mahfudzshobirin81@gmail.com Rizki Utama Saputra rizkikutama.saputra@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the personality dynamics of characters in the Bilai drama script by Mulyadi using Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory. This theory divides the structure of human personality into three main aspects: the id, ego, and superego. The analysis focuses on four main characters: Jukalip, Nak Kertinep, Tinep, and Kepaq. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with text analysis techniques, examining the characters dialogues, actions, and interactions to identify the dominance of one of the personality structures. The findings indicate that Jukalip is dominated by the id, which drives him to act impulsively and destructively, such as engaging in heavy drinking, gambling, and committing rape against his own daughter. Nak Kertinep is dominated by the superego, as reflected in her determination to maintain her household despite experiencing violence, influenced by the moral convictions and patriarchal cultural values she upholds. Tinep is also dominated by the id, which triggers emotional outbursts, shouting, and the desire to kill her father as a means of releasing past trauma. Meanwhile, Kepaq demonstrates ego dominance, which enables him to make realistic decisions, balance the impulses of the id and the demands of the superego, and continue working to support his family despite his physical limitations. These findings show that the dominance of one aspect of personality influences how characters behave, make decisions, and interact with their surroundings. This study affirms that the psychoanalytic approach can reveal the depth of characters’ inner conflicts and provide insight into the relationship between an individual’s psychological condition and the socio-cultural context underlying the literary work.
2025-09-16T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Epigraf: Berkala Ilmiah Sastra
